Hotels in Barcelona, Spain

Famous for its delicious paella and tapas, Barcelona offers many attractions of its own as well as offering a great location for a touring. Girona and the Figueras Museo Salvador Dali are just over an hours drive away.

Places to see while here should include as many of the great modernist creations of Antoni Gaudi. Barcelona celebrates his unique organic styled buildings and structures at many a turn. For the works of Gaudi follow signs for La Pedrera, La Sagrada Familiar and Parc Guell (to name but a few!).

Sightseeing in Barcelona couldn't be easier thanks to the Bus Turistica, taking in all the well-known tourist attractions. There is now a new green line, to add to the red (north) and blue (south) lines taking in the new development of Port Olympic and surrounding areas.

When booking your hotel, stay away from the busy squares and Las Ramblas unless you don't mind constant activity outside in the streets. Barcelona is alive night and day and although it is handy staying in the middle of town, it can be a pain after a full day of sightseeing to have to wade through thick crowds and then to have to sleep through their noise!
